This painting is inspired by the archetype of the wild woman.
She is not “pretty”.
She is not a “good girl”.
She is her most fully expressed and unchained version of herself.
When I first experienced the wild woman, it was at a retreat with a beautiful couple of friends who held it, Jayde & Marley.
This archetype scared the s#@% out of me.
I was afraid because it’s the part of us that has been so suppressed for so long in our lineage as women.
She was the one that got banished.
Told she was “too much”.
She doesn’t fit into any boxes, because she tears that box apart.
And no one knows what to do with her.
When I actually felt the Wild Woman within my body through an embodied practice, it felt like a breath of fresh air.
A breath that when it was felt in my body, I didn’t realise that my whole life I was sucking in my stomach and not fully allowing it to go all the way deep into my belly.
So I wanted to paint her.
For her to be on your alter.
To be the permission slip.
For you to know that this part of you is already there and wants to be unleashed.
Just go full WILD WOMAN, because life is too short to hold back your wild self.
And if you need guidance on how to access her, I highly recommend my dear sister who showed her to me and unlocked this part of myself, Jayde Alexandra from Temple of Eros (you’ll find her on instagram).
She is also the one who is painted here, to honour her in this work, I am so grateful.
I hope that this piece brings you fierce joy and adventure into your life.
